Terrassement du Bouvillon
C'est dans un manège, lors d'un spectacle Wild West, que cette discipline a vu le jour. Un bouvillon ayant sauté hors du manège, un cowboy l'a poursuivi, s'est jeté dessus et l'a renversé. Selon les règles établies aujourd'hui, un bon cheval de terrassement doit amener son cavalier assez près du bouvillon afin qu'il puisse incliner son corpsà l'angle de 45 degrés en ligne avec le trajet du bouvillon et ainsi, l'atteindre.
À ce moment précis, en pleine course et avec une synchronisation parfaite, le cowboy doit se glisser sur le dos de l'animal, lui saisir la corne droite, passer sa main libre sous la machoire et après avoir immobilisé l'animal ou l'avoir amené à changer de direction, le terrasser le plus rapidement possible. Comparé à des joueurs de football, les adeptes du terrassement du bouvillon occuperait la position de quart-arrière.
Le cowboy participant forme équipe avec un deuxième cavalier dont la tâche est d'assurer que le bouvillon se dirige en ligne droite.

It is in a Wild West Circus that this discipline was created. A steer had jumped in a ring and a cowboy run after it and wrestled it to the ground. According to the today rules, a good horse shall bring the cowboy close to the steer and lean at 45 degree angle until ready to wrestle the steer.
At that precise moment, in perfect synchronisation, the cowboy has to slide on the back of the animal, hold on to the right horn, put the other hand under the jaw of the animal, and after
immobilisation, wrestle the animal to the ground as fast as possible.
The cowboy is teamed with another rider that insure that the steer is going in a straight line.
